April 6 - April 11, 2026

Buff & Bloom Week is GW’s annual spring celebration, bringing the community together for a week of student-driven events, giveaways, and traditions inspired by the cherry blossom season.

This year, the Division for Student Affairs has reimagined the week as Buff & Bloom: For Good, a campus-wide philanthropic campaign supporting World Central Kitchen.

A Community For Good

Throughout the week, Buff & Bloom events will raise awareness and funds for World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit that provides fresh meals to communities impacted by disasters and humanitarian crises around the world.

Why We're Raising Funds

Harnessing our students' passion for change and global impact, this initiative will raise funds for humanitarian relief while cultivating a renewed sense of unity and purpose. Together, these efforts reflect a shared commitment to advancing good on our campus, in our community, and around the world.

As the GW community continues to navigate complex global issues, DSA is partnering with World Central Kitchen and GW's Global Food Institute to offer students, faculty, and staff a powerful outlet to transform energy into impact. All community members and student organizations are invited to participate in coordinated fundraising and programming, culminating in a benefit concert hosted by the GW Program Board.

All funds raised during Buff & Bloom: For Good events will support food security at both the local and global levels through coordination with World Central Kitchen and GFI.

How To Participate

Students, faculty, staff, and student organizations are invited to participate in events and fundraising efforts throughout the week.

Individuals

You can get involved by:

• Attend Buff & Bloom Week events, happening April 6-11, 2026
• Support our fundraising efforts by donating to the cause
• Participate in student organization activations
Buy a ticket to Spring Fling, GW Program Board’s annual concert

All proceeds from Spring Fling - along with other Buff & Bloom events - will benefit World Central Kitchen.

Student Organizations

This is a powerful opportunity for your org to support WCK’s work providing nourishing meals to communities around the world experiencing humanitarian crises and natural disasters. And while you’re doing good, your organization can earn incentives along the way.

If you’re in, join the Buff and Bloom: For Good fundraising initiative. Use the custom giving link we created for your organization to gather donations in support of World Central Kitchen at your Buff & Bloom Week events, or through outreach to your supporter network. To help get your team excited, check out the incentives we’re offering.

Your organization will receive an email with your custom living link, so be on the lookout in your inbox and don’t forget to share that link with your fellow org members! Using this link will allow us to track donations given on your org’s behalf, which could set you up to receive some incredible perks.

To make your work even easier, we’ve prepared a toolkit with customizable graphics for social media to promote your Buff & Bloom event.
