First-Year Orientation

We are so excited that you are starting your college journey here at GW! New Student Orientation will help you connect with campus resources, meet new friends, and prepare for academic success.

SUMMER 2026 ORIENTATION 

Registration for New Student Orientation is now open in your Admitted Student Portal! Orientation is a required program for all new students. 

Domestic first-year students must choose a June or July date to attend. International students will attend Orientation in August, and registration will open at the end of June. Families and supporters will register separately for New Families Orientation

*Indicates an Early Arrival option to stay on-campus prior to the start of the session date. 

** Our last Orientation date is reserved for International Students studying on a J4 or F1 visa, as well as students given special admittance based on extenuating circumstances. If you cannot make summer dates, please contact us at orientationatgwu [dot] edu (orientation[at]gwu[dot]edu)

What to Expect

During the overnight two-day model, students will hear from various campus offices and resources, academic colleges, and much more to prepare you to become and Revolutionary. On-campus housing accommodations and meals are provided for students participating in the program so that they can engage with the campus and student life before coming to GW in the Fall of 2026. Exact schedules for the days will be given virtually upon arrival to campus, but you can preview the schedule at a glance (PDF).

READY, REV, GO!

Complete the pre-orientation online module Ready, Rev, Go! before arriving on campus and participating in Orientation. Students need their UserID and password to access the online module.

The module will be live soon, check back to complete it before attending your Orientation session!
