The George Washington University believes that all students deserve a holistic experience of academic, residential and co-curricular activities and that the totality of the student experience can contribute to students’ ability to grow and succeed throughout their lives. Built on a foundation of integrity, creativity and openness to the exploration of new ideas, the university aims to foster a dynamic, student-focused community stimulated by cultural and intellectual diversity.

Enrollment and the Student Experience (ESE) provides a cohesive experience throughout all phases of the student lifecycle, from the admissions and enrollment process, through graduation and beyond. ESE supports a more connected, comprehensive, and student-centered approach to the student experience, and integrates the academic experience with student life beyond the classroom.

The results are the #onlyatGW moments that make our students' time here memorable. With your help, GW students are truly making history:

  • 95 students have been awarded Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund grants totaling nearly $150,000 since the program’s inception in the summer of 2013.
  • During their first night at GW, incoming freshmen visited George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate for a private look at the home of the university’s namesake. This history-making opportunity was made possible thanks to the generous support of GW alumni, parents, and friends.
  • Student organizations bring students together outside the classroom to build stronger student communities. Over 450 student organizations are advised by the Center for Student Engagement.

Gifts to ESE support the creation of programs and services that build affinity and community. Each dollar given goes directly to provide critical assistance to students in our community who have urgent need. Every dollar helps students achieve their academic, personal, and professional aspirations.
