Engaging Students from the Nation's Capital
The Division of Student Affairs enriches the GW experience by providing programs and services that foster student academic and personal achievement, career and professional development, and wellbeing.
The results are the #onlyatGW moments that make our students' time here memorable. With your help, GW students are truly making history:
- 95 students have been awarded Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund grants totaling nearly $150,000 since the program’s inception in the summer of 2013.
- Since fall 2014, during their first night at GW, incoming freshmen have visited George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate for a private look at the home of the university’s namesake. This history-making opportunity was made possible thanks to the generous support of GW alumni, parents, and friends.
- Student organizations bring students together outside the classroom to build stronger student communities. Over 450 student organizations are advised by the Center for Student Engagement.
As depicted in "Division of Student Affairs By the Numbers (2014-2015)" (pdf), gifts to DSA support the creation of programs and services that build affinity and community. Each dollar given goes directly to provide critical assistance to students in our community who have urgent need. Every dollar helps students achieve their academic, personal, and professional aspirations.
