STUDENT LIFE
Creating spaces and opportunities for engagement throughout your GW journey.
GET INVOLVED
The Office of Student Life brings learning out of the classroom and our innovative programs are personalized to ensure you achieve academic success. From first-year students to first-generation students and transfer students, the Office of Student Life tailors services and events to reach all populations.
Student Organizations
Assembled under an array of causes, identities, and interests, student organizations at GW put on some of the most highly anticipated campus events and offer endless opportunities for involvement and leadership each year. With over 500+ student organizations, so there is something for everyone!
Fraternity & Sorority Life
FSL offers students the opportunity to create a home away from home while building lifelong friendships, developing leadership skills, and giving back to the community through service and philanthropy. With over 155 years of history, FSL is one of GW’s longest-standing traditions.
Leadership Development
Students’ involvement in leadership development, through positional and non-positional roles, is an important part of the college experience. These roles help develop a wealth of transferable skills that are not only useful while at GW and beyond.

CENTER FOR INTERFAITH & SPIRITUAL LIFE
The Center for Interfaith & Spiritual Life will support and strengthen the university's religious and philosophical diversity by providing opportunities to engage with spiritual life on campus through interfaith engagement, education, service, worship, and meditation.
FIRST-GENERATION STUDENTS
Find your community among other first-gen students! GW defines first-generation college students as those whose parents did not complete a four-year, baccalaureate degree.
