GW’s Low Ropes Course

The Summit is GW'S revitalized low ropes course is an outdoor experiential learning space designed to bring people together.  

The Summit features 13 unique elements designed to challenge your group physically, mentally, and collaboratively. Whether you’re balancing, spotting, or strategizing, every activity is an opportunity to explore how your team communicates, solves problems, and supports one another.

Why Bring Your Group to The Summit?

At the Summit groups evolve into better teams. Research shows that experiential learning in challenge-based environments fosters trust and collaborative problem-solving. Participants are encouraged to step beyond their comfort zones and engage more intentionally with one another. 

What to Expect

• 13 low ropes elements focusing on balance, trust, communication, and teamwork
• Guided facilitation by trained staff to help your group connect, grow and reflect
• Customized experiences based on your group’s goals, whether that’s bonding, problem-solving, or preparing for leadership

The Summit Course is also available for rental use by groups outside of GW including corporate teams, non-profit agencies, youth organizations, religious groups and more. Your team is encouraged to stay on the Mount Vernon campus after your Summit Course experience to continue your dialogue and team building. You might have lunch delivered to enjoy in the Hand Chapel's luminous space or bring your group to the Buff and Brew for a cup of coffee and a snack. We also recommend holding a space in the Hand Chapel to use in case of inclement weather, since facilitators can pivot team building indoors.
