ON BEHALF OF THE OFFICE OF STUDENT SUPPORT AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT, we welcome you and your family to the GW community! As parents and family members, you are important partners in your student’s success. We believe establishing a relationship with families is an important component of this academic, social, and professional transition.

In August 2021, we will be conducting a phased move-in over several weeks to help reduce crowds in the lobbies and elevators.
In early June, rising sophomores, juniors and seniors who will be living on-campus this fall will be invited to self-select their move-in date and four-hour move-in time block, based on their class year. First-year students will select from their date block later in the month.
At GW, we aim to create a community that cares for one another. The college experience can often be challenging, and asking for help can be difficult. The CARE Team reaches out to offer support so that students can be as successful as possible through graduation.
Family philanthropy plays a crucial role in building and shaping an exemplary educational experience for GW students. Families support students through internships and career opportunities and through financial contributions that impact all areas of student life. An important aspect of family support at GW is the Family Leadership Circle, a group of parents and families who contribute philanthropic gifts and engage with our greater GW community
