FACULTY & STAFF WELLBEING
SUPPORTING STUDENT WELLBEING
Faculty and staff members play a critical role in supporting and enhancing student wellbeing. They are often the first line of defense when a student is in crisis or distress. It's crucial that faculty and staff members feel confident in their ability to respond to student concerns in an empathetic way, while referring them to appropriate resources.
REACH Workshops
GW’s REACH program provides faculty and staff members with comprehensive and engaging workshops to build skills and confidence to support student wellbeing. Sessions include a suicide prevention training, skill development on responding to disclosures, and information on supporting students with disabilities.
Raise High Folder
The Raise High Folder is a faculty/staff guide with additional information on supporting students' wellbeing. The document contains information on observing and communicating with students in distress and what campus resources may be available to them. Please request for hard copies via email ([email protected]).
Mental Health Resources
GW students now have access to expanded telehealth through our partnership with TimelyCare featuring additional counseling services, urgent medical care, therapy, and psychiatry appointments at no cost to full-time GW students.
