At the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, we understand that life's challenges can sometimes be difficult. Whether you're facing mental health struggles, emotional distress, alcohol or drug use concerns, or just need someone to talk to, our caring counselors are here for you. You are not alone.
Academic Commons provides comprehensive academic services to all students for no cost. Available services include peer tutoring, course review sessions, data consultations, academic skills workshops, and a variety of workshops.
Act Now for Mental Health (ANMH)
ANMH provides free telehealth therapy services for young adults ages 17-32 residing in Virginia, Maryland and DC. They utilize and train Master's level graduate students in various therapy treatments including CBT, DBT, ACT, Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic, Art Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care.
The GW Career Services offices guides students to reflect and build on their strengths and unique GW experiences. They empower students to maximize their year-round access to professional opportunities and open doors to top-tier organizations.
Center for Interfaith & Spiritual Life
The Center for Interfaith & Spiritual supports and strengthens the university's religious and philosophical diversity by providing opportunities to engage with spiritual life on campus through interfaith engagement, education, service, worship, and meditation. The Center helps to confront religious intolerance, promote and support spiritual development, theological reflections, social justice, and social awareness in a warm and welcoming atmosphere where students, faculty, and staff feel comfortable exploring their religious, secular, and spiritual identities. The Center provides programs, people and spaces to help connect students, faculty and staff at GW through interfaith partnerships and community building. The Center also works collaboratively with religious, secular, and spiritual student organizations to support regular programs and ritual support for religious holidays and holy day observances. Students are supported and encouraged to grow in interfaith leadership development.
Community Counseling Services Center (CCSC)
GW’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development provides confidential, low-cost individual counseling to community members and students in the greater Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Masters and Doctoral students offer both in-person counseling and teletherapy while working under faculty supervision.
Conflict Education and Student Accountability
Conflict Education & Student Accountability (CESA, formerly known as Student Rights & Responsibilities) engages across GW to foster equitable and restorative accountability to community standards. They do this through promoting individual rights and communal responsibilities, supporting community members to identify and repair harm, and growing community capacity for conflict management.
A division of Academic Commons, the Create Digital Studio assists students, faculty, and staff with the tools and expertise to expand their ability to create high-quality videos, podcasts, interactive experiences, and data visualization. CREATE is open and available to everyone at GW - regardless of major or department. Professional staff provide workshops and individual consultations to help everyone at GW use digital storytelling to effectively communicate their research and ideas in the online world.

A live, trained volunteer Crisis Counselor receives the text and responds, all from our secure online platform. The volunteer Crisis Counselor will help you move from a hot moment to a cool calm.
Disability Support Services (DSS) at GW recognizes disability in the context of diversity. They work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff across the campus to foster a climate of universal academic excellence while promoting disability culture and GW’s broader diversity and inclusion initiatives. DSS can help students with a variety of accommodations including housing, class registration, and test taking requirements.
EC 4 DC aka Emergency Contraception for DC, is a mutual aid project providing free emergency contraception to DC residents. Visit any of their local community partners to pick up free emergency contraception.
The Emergency Medical Response Group is an organization of student volunteers, who serve the GW community and surrounding neighborhood with entirely free medical evaluation, treatment, and transport. EMeRG is available during the academic school year and is never there to get you in trouble, only to help.
