Dear GW Students,
Whether you are completing your first year at GW, your last, or anything in between, we want to offer sincere congratulations on all you have accomplished to get to this point in your journey. Every spring, the university looks back at the remarkable achievements made by our students individually and collectively; reflects on the progress we have made towards becoming a stronger, more united GW; and appreciates the joy our students both bring and experience here.
Joy and accomplishment were in no short supply in the 2025-2026 academic year. Throughout this busy time of year, take time to reflect on the challenges you have overcome and the moments of success that mean the most to you. Whether you contributed to Buff & Bloom: For Good, took part in the OneGW Community Summit, reached an academic milestone you never thought possible, or even just pushed yourself to explore a new passion through involvement in a student organization, please look back on this year with pride.
Now, as some students complete their final exams and many others are preparing for exams to begin, we want to take a moment to wish you luck and reassure you that you are capable, prepared, and supported. As you approach your exams and final projects with confidence, know that the university and the Division for Student Affairs have many resources available to help you get through the finish line. Your physical and mental wellbeing are more important than ever during this time of year. Don’t forget to give yourself grace, ask for help when you need it, and take breaks.
Additionally, please continue to be respectful of your classmates during this time. As a reminder, 24-Hour Quiet Areas remain in effect in University Yard through May 8 and Kogan Plaza through May 10.
Best wishes for a healthy and relaxing summer break, Revs. You deserve it!
For those on Instagram, be sure to stay in touch with Dean Coleman @GW_DeanOfStudents. And for those taking part in Commencement on the National Mall on May 17, we can’t wait to celebrate your success surrounded by your friends and families!
Sincerely,
