Student Organization Pathways
The Student Organization Pathways framework is designed to align resources directly with the actual operational needs of each registered student organization. This system prioritizes resource allocation efficiency and provides transparency regarding organizational requirements and benefits. Student organizations can view their Pathway assignment on RevConnect and learn more about the specific benefits, resources, and requirements here.
Every Registered Student Organization (RSO) is assigned to a specific color-coded Pathway Line based on operational data from the past two years, including funding utilization, spending habits, and the type/frequency of events held. The Pathway line informs an organization’s resource allocation, benefits, and requirements.

| 🔴 Red Line | Assigned Advisor, full funding/travel access, office & storage eligibility. |
| 🔵 Blue Line | Assigned Advisor, full funding/travel access, office & storage eligibility. |
| 🟠 Orange Line | Self-selected Advisor (required), full SGA funding, major space & domestic travel access. |
| ⚪ Silver Line | Self-selected Advisor (optional), up to $1,500 SGA funds, basic space access (no major spaces). |
| 🟡 Yellow Line | Optional Advisor, revenue capped at $100, basic tabling/small meeting rooms. |
| 🟢 Green Line | Self-selected Advisor, umbrella funding, specialized operational guidelines. Green Line includes all Law and Medical School student organizations. |
We want your assignment to be a genuine reflection of your organization's trajectory. If you believe your current assignment does not align with your operational plans:
- Initial Appeal Window: Open now through September 15, 2026. Submit a Pathway Transition Application.
- Ongoing Transitions: Moving forward, organizations can apply for a Pathway transition once per semester.
To understand exactly what your assigned line can access and what is expected of your leadership team, review the core tiers below:
- Advisors
- Assigned Advisor: Required for Red and Blue lines to support high-impact operations. Advisor is assigned by DSA.
- Self-Selected Advisor: Required for Orange line; optional for Silver and Yellow lines. Student leaders mutually agree on a partnership with an eligible faculty or staff member.
💡 Note: Organizations on the Orange Line must self-identify and lock in an advisor by October 1st. The Division for Student Affairs (DSA) is launching a faculty/staff directory to help you find a match.
- Funding and Revenue Limits
- SGA General Allocations & Co-Sponsorships: Full access for Red, Blue, and Orange lines. Silver line is eligible for up to $1,500 in SGA funds per year. Yellow line is not eligible for SGA funding.
- Self-Generated Revenue Caps: Yellow line is capped at $100, Silver at $500, and Orange at $10,000. Red and Blue lines are capped at $50,000.
- Campus Space and Venues
- Tabling and Small Classrooms (<50 seats): Available to all lines (including Yellow).
- Major Spaces and Specialty Venues (e.g., Ballrooms, JMA): Strictly available to Orange, Blue, and Red lines.
- Office and Storage Space: Only Red and Blue lines are eligible to apply for office space. Red, Blue, and Orange lines are eligible for storage space.
- Travel, Contracts, and Events
- Travel Permissions: Orange and Silver lines are permitted for domestic travel only. Red and Blue lines have access to both domestic and international travel. Red, Blue, and Orange have access to car rentals.
- Contracts: Red, Blue, and Orange lines may execute paid contracts; Silver may execute gratis ($0/no payment) contracts only.
- Events with Alcohol/Minors: Restricted exclusively to Red, Blue, and graduate-only Orange. Eligibility is subject to risk management guidelines and completion of required training.
