Wellbeing Resource Directory

We've compiled a list of campus and D.C. resources to support your wellbeing at GW. Use the filters to search for resources by cost, support topic, location, and eligibility. Junk Mail

Junk Mail is a collaboration between the GW Office of Health Promotion & Education and GW RAGE. They offer free safer sex products to students available for pick up or free delivery to students living in on-campus residence halls in discreet packaging. Your name and residential information will not be shared with or visible to anyone outside of the team packing your order.

Lerner Health and Wellness Center

Lerner Health and Wellness Center is a gym available to all GW students and is located on the foggy bottom campus. Lerner is available for use by gw students, faculty, and staff. GW faculty, staff, and alumni have to pay for access but it is free for students. 

Libraries and Academic Innovation

Libraries and Academic Innovation (LAI) is the association of GW libraries that connects the GW community with skilled research librarians to assist with a variety of academic projects. Librarians can offer assistance identifying research topics, analyzing data, locating relevant literature, and other research assistance. 

Mount Vernon Campus Fitness Center

The Mount Vernon Fitness Center is a state-of-the-art fitness center located on the B1 level of West Hall and is open to students, staff, and faculty of the Mount Vernon Campus community, free of charge. Equipped with free weights, functional weight training equipment, and a Smith machine, the facility has all of the resistance tools to help you reach your strength training goals. For your cardio needs, the Fitness Center has treadmills, ellipticals, a boxing station, and a stepmill.

Office of Advocacy and Support

OAS offers confidential, trauma-informed support for students affected by sexual violence, relationship violence, and/or stalking. OAS is committed to cultivating and strengthening a culture of care that empathetically supports and empowers GW community members. Services provided include emotional and administrative assistance, psychoeducation on trauma and the cycle of violence, a confidential space to talk, and referrals.

Sexual Assault and Intimate Violence (SAIV) Helpline

The SAIV Helpline is a confidential helpline for anyone in the GW community who has been affected by sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating and/or domestic violence, or stalking. available 24 hours a day, year-round.  The SAIV Helpline staff can help evaluate and address your safety, medical, or other immediate needs, provide crisis counseling, safety planning, and emotional support, and assist you in identifying counseling, advocacy, legal, and other support needs.

Student Health Center

The Student Health Center (SHC) is a multidisciplinary, integrated, student healthcare service that provides outpatient confidential, student centered care in an accessible, safe, culturally sensitive, and supportive environment. The SHC offers medical, psychiatric, counseling, and insurance services. The SHC also encompasses TimelyCare, and CAPS. The cost of using the SHC is dependent on a student's insurance. 

The Center Clinic

The Center Clinic is a community mental health center housed within the George Washington University’s Professional Psychology Program. The nonprofit clinic is staffed by clinical externs who are advanced doctoral students in the Professional Psychology Program.

The Dorm

The Dorm offers an in-person Intensive Outpatient Program and Partial Hospitalization Program. Their clinicians offer integrative, evidence-based mental health treatment to young adults (18-30) that blends therapy, groups, coaching, health and wellness services and community support.

The Meltzer Center

The Meltzer Center provides a wide variety of low-cost mental health services to adults, children, families and couples in the Washington, D.C., area. The Meltzer Center is a training clinic for students in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. 

The Multicultural Student Services Center

The MSSC fosters a diverse and inclusive campus environment. In conjunction with the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement, the MSSC holds programming for Cultural Heritage Celebrations and social justice. They also provide spaces for inclusion, such as the LGBTQIA+ Resource Lounge in Room 514 of the MSSC.

The Store

The Store is a student-run food pantry that provides resources and support for students living with food insecurity. The Store was founded on the principles of faith, trust, and respect, and these values guide our work every day. Our mission is to address student need at GW by offering food and other resources to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
